Nexus 4 lock screen not appearing

[Android Question]

Hi, I have a year old Nexus 4 and I have been having a problem where the lock screen does not appear. My phone is not rooted and this happens on both stock and third party lock screens. Right now using I cannot make the stock locker come up at all. Does anyone know of a reason for this to happen?

So the lock screen doesn't appear no matter how long the screen is off for? There should be a setting to control how long the screen has to be off before the lockscreen is enabled, so it's worth checking that one.

Otherwise there are apps which can disable the lock screen completely (as their intended function), but presumably you'd know if you'd installed one of those.
