Nexus 4 on Metro

People are reporting more and more success getting the Nexus 4 running on Tmo/Metros blended network. For the price of this high end phone out of network ( destroys the USA version of the S3), you'd be crazy not to take advantage.

This is such an amazing opportunity for those of us stuck with cripple Metro midrange phones, you owe it to yourself to just go for it and experience android the way it was meant to be experienced.

Are you saying the nexus 4 getting access to metro pcs 4g lte too?

From my understanding the N4 goes on the blended t-metro network but with gsm / hpa.. I don't think the N4 can get Lte since it doesn't have the hardware for it..

Out of the box, the Nexus 4 won't get LTE because as a result of the device not being certified for it with the FCC, Google disabled it. However, if you're open to a few minor software manipulations, you can enable T-Mobile LTE on it. Granted in order to use it, you have to have it in your location.

If you happen to know the apns necessary to make it work on them, I'd like to know them to add to the sticky.
Apn for metro?

No I dont live in one of them markets yet.

APN for canadian carriers? they all use different apns I could possibly find them on xda if those are what you mean?

Apn for att, yes thats listed on xda I could find that.

If you'd like to, it would be much appreciated. But don't feel obligated to.

Ok I will link you to the post on xda, giving credit where its due, then copy/paste the info.

The most important part is the next step, the reason everyone's getting crappy speeds is the APN. LG programed the default AT&T APN as wap.cingular, that's an old APN. Use the following settings and restart your phone. You should be all set.

Name: AT&T
APN: phone
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type:
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN protocol: IPv4
Bearer: Unspecified

*On another note, if you're trying the LTE hack, you will need to have an LTE data plan on your account. Which means you need an IMEI for an LTE phone (one that AT&T will recognize) on your account for them to add the LTE plan. Once you've got that use the same APN settings, but change the APN from 'phone' to 'pta'.

There is way too much to copy/paste on this link so I will let you browse it and pick and choose.

this one is for some/all the canadian carriers. Both for LTE and nonLTE.

Name: AT&T
APN: phone
Proxy:

MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type:
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN protocol: IPv4
Bearer: Unspecified

If someone that has metro BYOD and getting LTE accesses the LTE APN on their phone posted what I have in bold we would be able to tell if its accessing metro or tmo LTE
Tmo would be
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Metro would be
MCC: 311
MNC: 660

Name: AT&T
APN: phone
Proxy:

Wouldn't the MCC number be 311 and the MNC be 660?

When I search for lte I get the 311660 id.
