nexus 4 to replace htc one x

Hi I am looking for a replacement for my one x and have spotted the nexus 4. My only real concern is the battery life and came to ask for some personal opinions from nexus owners. I use my phone to listen to music for between 1 or 2 hours per day and a lot of internet use.
Thanks :)

Hello, daniel, welcome to the forums - thanks for joining!! :D

Although I don't have the same usage pattern as you, I have never had a problem with battery life - in fact, the Nexus 4 has the best battery life I've had for a smartphone.

I am sure others will give you some better advice with regards to your usage :)

My wife is holding out for her upgrade and will be getting an S4

I weighed up all the options and bought a 16GB N4 outright, got a

You won't regret it. :)

As DURX pointed out, I came from a One X and whilst I didn't have massive issues with the battery life on the One X, I've found the battery on the N4 to be nothing short of immense (for my usage anyway). Even heavy usage, you'll make it through the day and if it's sitting idle, you'll lose virtually nothing.

Like yourself, I primarily use it for music (either streaming via Deezer or if my connection is bad, via music on the device in Play Music).

Save for the few mins of Subway Surfers my son will play on the way to nursery, I don't really play games on it (I use the tab for that) so it might not last that long if you use games.

I still think the One X is better in some respects (storage space, build, camera), but I'm still happy with my purchase and glad I made the jump.

You might want to hold off, there are rumours of a 32GB LTE version at Google I/O.

I did read about the 32gb version and might hang around for a few weeks so I can check the specs and price. As long as the battery lasts I will b happy with the 16gb version and will have access to WiFi via bt hotspots so 4g is not going to make much difference but won't harm to wait. Thanks for the advice and for making my decision a little easier :)

That's your partition layout, the OS takes about 800MB and after formatting, you've got 13GB so about 12(ish)GB

Edit - Maybe I need to type stuff faster :o

I don't know how the HTC One X is, but I've had an HTC Incredible and Rezound, both had TERRIBLE battery life. I just got a Nexus 4 recently and I'm very happy with the battery life. I do moderate web browsing throughout the day, FB, a decent amount of messaging (text, Talk, GroupMe), some random games, and Google Music. I have no problem getting through a whole day.

I moved from the HTC One X to the Nexus 4. Trust me, you won't regret it. Its so much better IMO. Smoother, faster, nicer looking, less glitchy.... I think the screen is better on the Nexus 4 as well. A far more complete smartphone. So much so for me, I will only ever use Nexus phones forever more.
Battery life I have found to be about the same on both phones. Depends what you do on it.
Do it.......

The screen is better in the HOX in my opinion.

The Nexus 4 screen is a little washed out in comparison and mine has some ghosting which I barely notice but it is there.

Only issue I've had with battery is playing Real racing or GTA Vice City, but I expected it. Other than that, never had to recharge through the day.

And PA kernel improves the screen colors pretty well.

Wow, if peeps are saying this coming from a One X, then I think I'm going to be a very happy bunny indeed coming from a One V. Sorry for the pointless post but I'm getting all excited sitting here waiting for TNT to turn up with my phone.
I just wish they would hurry up!

Finally got my nexus after finding out the 32gb version was not being released and extremely happy with it. Battery lasted 29hrs with plenty of use on the sat nav from Lancashire past Birmingham and the usual talk time and web browsing. The screen looks crisp and audio is great.

I came from a galaxy s3, which i first thought was the best phone id ever owned.

After having the N4 for a day i changed my mind. N4 FTW!
