Hi All, I seem to be having a unique problem. I've searched the Web, gone to a T-Mobile store (A bunch of useless idiots), called Google Nexus support, called LG (Equally as stupid as the T-Mobile employees) They could not help me in any way whatsoever.
I had a similar problem when switching from an AT&T to T-Mobile SIM. There were 4 phone stores in a single block of buildings, and most suggested that the Boost Mobile actually had a technician that might be able to assist, so I went there. The kid behind the counter recognized the problem almost immediately as
a mis-cut SIM, but of course that thread was presented for your consideration as you created your OP, based on your keywords SIM and T-Mobile. Still, the images I posted are worthy of your consideration.
As the title suggests, my Nexus 4 is not getting any signal with a T-Mobile SIM inserted. I used the phone on AT&T for 2 months with no problems at all. I've tried multiple T-Mobile SIMs and AT&T SIMs and the results are always the same. ...
Does that mean the T-Mobile SIM(s) always fail, while the AT&T always work? Certainly the phone states "no SIM card detected" or some such when booting?
Your problem sounds exactly the same as mine, so check the thread above and see how your T-Mobile cards are cut. I only tried two, but they were both mis-cut, so I cut a full-sized SIM myself using a cutter at a Radio Shack store, crowding the side away from the corner bevel as in the pictures, and it's worked perfectly ever since.
You don't state if your carrier is T-Mobile or some MVNO using T-Mobile, so I can't help with your APN settings, but of course it's necessary to have those settings correct as well.
