I don't have the Nexus 5 with them yet, but have been thinking about it and reading some posts on their forums. Some people said activation was easy when following the instructions, some had issues - looks like a big cause for problems was people turning on the phone before inserting their SIM card.

Another issue was the voicemail indicator, but that wasn't specific to Ting and was fixed with an Android update.
Reception/LTE always depends on your location, but people have said their signal is the same or better. If you already have a phone with Ting you can easily switch your number over to the Nexus 5.
