Nexus 5 or OnePlus One or something else?

Hello everyone,
It's been awhile since I was here, and I'm glad to be back. Now I have a HTC EVO 3D, which I want to pass on to my father. My problem is, that I cannot decide which phone to buy. I live in Europe, but my uncle is coming home from Canada in early July and he can bring me a phone from there. So I was thinking of the Nexus 5 32GB model, but there were many comments about how bad the battery and the camera were. The battery is not my main concern, because I'm not a heavy user (I'm maybe a medium user), but I'm very keen on having a great camera. I've read that some updates have fixed the Nexus 5 camera, but I'm still not quite sure. The other option is the OnePlus One, but the problem is with the invitation system. It has a better camera and a larger battery on paper, and it's also a lot cheaper for 64 GB model (350$). Other models that I've looked were the Oppo Find 7 (with the 2k display), but it's more expensive. My last option is to wait probably for the Nexus 6 (if that's what they are going to call it) and decide then, but that's a lot of waiting time.

TL: DR I need a future proof phone that has a great camera, a decent battery for not a heavy user and not to cost over let's say 400-450$.

Thank you for your time and effort :) and have a nice day!

The battery in the Nexus 5 should be more then enough for a medium user, and I've heard more people say it lasts a long time then not long enough.

As far as I know, general availability for the OnePlus One is still up in the air. In May people with invites should be able to get it, but after that it's not known when regular customers can buy one. I would wait until real world reviews come out before deciding.

Both phones should be future proof for several years.

Thanks for the fast reply :)
Now that I think about it, it's not a problem to carry a charger with me, so the battery issue may become less important. Do you have any idea how is the camera on the nexus 5 and what's the sound quality from through earphones? Also there are no other phones from this price range that you could suggest for me to buy?

OnePlus One 64GB is the one to go for right now, but it's frustrating as it's not available yet and it's unclear as to when it will be available.

Nexus 5 is still good though, but I'm waiting for the OnePlus One.

Don't like the S5 or M8, Sony's Z2 looks decent but the OnePlus One is a lot cheaper.

2K display is not something I want in a phone, you would struggle to see the difference and it would reduce performance.
