Help Nexus 6 specs/discussion

I have an AT&T N6, too. I just timed mine from the Google logo to the lock screen ... a minute and 8 seconds. The next questions are which version of Android do you have and are you rooted? Did you make any modifications or completely stock?

5.0.1, Completely stock, AT&T model.

Yep.............am running a custom rom (Dirty Unicorns) and It takes my phone 1 minute and 24 seconds to go from the Google Logo to my main screen. Sorry, I do not use a lock screen. I also have a AT&T N6.

I deleted my oem folder to get rid of the obnoxious splash screen and AT&T sound. Can anyone who still has that confirm boot times?

As long as you say that the phone behaves normally once booted, the only thing I can think of it that it's recompiling apps with every boot, which it shouldn't. Have you ever done a factory reset? You might want to even consider reflashing the firmware to make sure your OS isn't corrupt.

Phone operates just fine with no hiccups otherwise. I'm not good at this flashing/or rooting stuff. What I may do it hold out till 5.1 comes along, and then factory reset then.

Appreciate all the help everyone!

The default launcher is Google Now. The usable app icon grid is 5 X 5. This takes into account the persistent Google search bar and the tray at the bottom. Of course you can get a whole lot more options from Nova or Apex.

Although it could have actually been made by Foxconn or Pegatron or some other contract OEM.

The Good The Google Nexus 6 has a razor-sharp and expansive display, a powerful Snapdragon processor, the Android Lollipop OS and an OIS-equipped camera that takes great photos.

The Bad Broad and bulky, the Nexus may be too big -- in size and price -- for some users.

The Bottom Line The Nexus 6 is a powerful plus-sized Android handset, though the slimmer Samsung Galaxy Note 4 delivers superior overall performance and native productivity features. Pure Android at its absolute best, well done Moto.
