Nexus 6P vs. Moto X Pure 2015

As far as I can tell, these phones are exceedingly similar in size, specs, and screen quality, and I was unable to find a review directly comparing the two. Is the Nexus 6P worth the extra $100?

It is. My fiance got the pure at my recommendation and I've played extensively with it. It's a good phone solid in every way and good battery life.

He 6p thought is definitely better although I wouldn't say it's a huge gap. The fact the pure has a microsd slot gives it a ton of points from me.

Now that moto is owned by lenovo, we are already starting to see the cost cutting taking place. The 2014 Moto X on verizon and ATT aren't getting marshmallow, and they've only been out a bit more than a year. The moto E 2015 hasnt even been out a year and isnt getting it.

Getting the latest android updates is important for me. I know with nexus I'm going to get my update, and I can even apply it myself the day it comes out.

Your milage may vary - If updates aren't as important to you, you probably don't mind.

I received my 6P last Wednesday. The last time I bought on issue day was the Bionic, which was a horrible mistake. The only bad thing about the 6P is the very weak vibrate motor. I don't know why some manufacturers do that. Otherwise I'm very glad I made the purchase.

My previous 7 phones were Motorolas. The last three or four were purchased at full price, and I was buying a new one every year. Needless to say I'm partial to Motos. However I would suggest to anyone considering a Pure to visit Motorola's forum.

There are many problems reported with crackling or popping noises in the audio. There were also some complaints pertaining to battery life, although that is a variable that is quite different among users. The other big problem is Motorola having delivery problems. There are many who have gotten notices of shipment only to find out the phone isn't assembled yet. There are other concerns also that I won't detail here.

I am lucky in that I am able to choose what I think is the best purchase other than being based on cost. This is my second Nexus and I see myself staying with the line in the future.....hopefully. And of course here is my disclaimer of "this is strictly my opinion".
