nexus 7 app problems

Hi I just got a nexus 7 today and so far I'm happy apart from a couple of niggles so I was hoping someone would know a fix for them. First up my YouTube app cannot play a lot of videos it just says cannot play on this platform and second I got the kindle app and copied over mobi format books from my pc into the kindle folder I can see all the books in the on device section but my problem comes when I make collections, I've got 4 collections that had all my books sorted into them but after a few hours I went back to it and all the books except 2 had disappeared from the collections. Can anyone help me with this please
 
Youtube videos that will not play on a android device is normally because the content creator did not flag the video as available to mobile devices. Use Chrome in desktop mode, that usually works.

As for the Kindle app, that is better posted to the general lounge for more eyeballs to see then here at the device specific forum.
