Nexus 7 -DEAD (sorta)

Well, my Nexus 7 has the sads and is kinda dead. I'm a simple user (non-root, basic apps, etc.) and had updated to OS 4.2.2 and hadn't seen any problems. The only problem I was seeing lately was that I couldn't update apps ... I would get an error from Google Play. To get around that, I "re-booted" and then all was well and I could do my updates. Then, I started getting Google Music errors (even though I don't use the app). So, I re-booted again and my N7 would never get past the "X" screen when trying to start up. I wasn't having charging problems like others though.

I talked with a Google rep and did the steps to do a hard re-start but that didn't help so they referred me to ASUS tech support. After talking with ASUS they decided that I should send my N7 in for repair. I don't know if they'll truly repair it or just replace it. I got the info from them on sending it back and I'll take care of it this weekend.

Comically, they said I should back up all data on the tablet ... but I can't since I can't even get into the tablet!

Has anyone had a similar problem to mine? I've heard of other problems but they're mainly related to charging problems which I never encountered.
