Oh, yikes! You posted in the right place, but that doesn't sound good. The only thing I could suggest would be to perform a "battery pull". This is totally dependant upon your level of comfort with electronics and all.
I'll preface this by saying you can seriously damage your device if you don't know what you're doing since this isn't your typical "battery pull". If you don't feel comfortable or are unsure, then STOP! Send it back for repair or exchange.
First I would make sure nothing is plugged into the USB poart, then follow these steps. You need to pry the back off of the tablet. I would use something like a plastic/rubber/silicone spatula and carefully pry around the edges evenly until it's off. Once the back is off, it's pretty easy to tell what component is the battery. It's the largest component in there. Up at the top you'll see a set of red, yellow, etc wires coming off of it into a black connector that connects to the board. Carefully slide that connector off (towards the battery). Leave it disconnected 30 seconds or so and then reconnect it VERY CAREFULLY again and be sure everything lines up.
AGAIN, if you feel uncomfortable at any point before disconnecting the battery, seal it back up and exchange it or send it for repair. Once you disconnect the battery though, you have to get it reconnected if you are going to think about returning it for repair or exchanging.
