Nexus 7 lte gsm version on metro plan question

I was thinking of getting a 7 regardless just because I really like the idea of a pure android experience as well as the amazing os updates. Itll just help me decide if I need the wifi only variety or not.
If I can't get unlimited data on it then I wouldn't even.bother with a limited plan/unlocked gsm version especially since it costs much more. I'd just buy the Wi-Fi version if it's not possible

I bought 2 N7 (2013)'s about two months ago (WiFi only models) and really love 'em. One of 'em has been updated to 5.1, and the other is in it's box waiting the funds to get a new screen/digitizer (yes, I'd only had 'em for about a week, when one of my boys was handing it to me and let go before I had a full grip on it and it landed on the screen with the front magnetic cover open).

Do you have a Metro phone plan right now? If not, the way their plans work, is that you do have unlimited data. However you are limited to the amount of high speed data. After you reach the limit you are throttled to about 2G speeds. It'll still show as 4G/LTE but your speeds will be slower. I have never reached my ceiling. I get to about 1.5 or 1.75 Gig/month so have never been throttled. I'm on the $40 phone plan with my Moto G (2013). The tablet plans will be similar. Also, if you have more than one line you get $5 knocked off the monthly price; my $40 plan, I'm only paying $35/month. My wife and I are only paying $70/month for really great service here in the Dallas area.

I have metro. I have the 60 but then again I eat data for breakfast. It's not unusual for me to hit 60gb in a month lol.
It's the entire reason im loyal to metro. No one else has unlimited high speed and those who do all change more (I think tmo for example charges 80 for their unlimited plan)
The throttle isn't acceptable lol.
Really I was eyeing the top of the line tablets but I have complaints about them all. Samsung series tablets (all of them) = touchwiz and I hate touchwiz (I have a.galaxy light currently. Bad bday gift from the in-laws)
So that's out even though their note pro 12.2 is great for multitasking and has great stylus support.
Love the nexus 9 and the fact the storage isn't expandable isn't even the dealbreaker. It's the damn 4:3 display. Gotta have 16:10 (or 9)
Nvidia shield seems like a beast in terms of performance and even though im not a gamer id definitely.appreciate it's capabilities nonetheless but the reviews don't seem to match what's under the hood (loads of complaints)
So rather than make a bad purchasei figure ill just go with a discontinued classic and hopefully the next nexus tablet returns to it's typical display

The tablet plans are currently JUST for the Pop7. Most stores probably won't activate a tablet on a phone plan. I have activated a 7 inch phablet before but an actual tablet? I am not sure to be honest. You can try..
Thanks. I won't bother then. It's not worth the extra money just to find out its a no go plus even if the tablet plans were applicable for byod I still would pass on it. But thank you again for your time . I appreciate it!
Oh btw do you know what happens if metro catches tethering usage? Just curious because I have an old phone (cdma actually) that I've had on metros unlimited plan for about 6 months now and I've pretty much had tether on continuously since I activated it on their 60 dollar plan.
It'll work with even the native tethering app with no safeguards to prevent it from being detected but just to be safer I've been using fox fi.

I have Wi-Fi atmy main residence but im working on restoring a home that will be my main residence. I spend a couple days a week there and have not set up the internet just yet or cable (pointless to pay when im there maybe 10 days a month) so I tether to enable myself the ability to watch tv on a tablet with the phones data..

Don't take this as gospel but the tablet identifies as android and so metro should not see it any different then the phone.
