Nexus 7 make sense for me?

Bren S.

Hi all :)
I'm thinking of getting a 32gb Nexus 7 or a 10.

I'm thinking 7 because I already have a Xoom rocking JB,so that covers the 10 inch size well enough I think.

I have a Nook Color that is running MIUI via a dual boot sd that I use for reading and surfing etc. Works well but is a bit slow which doesn't surprise considering it is an ereader and not a tablet per se.

My phone is GNex and I've heard some comments that the N7 isn't much bigger?

Anyways, do you think I would find the N7 more useful and faster?

Thoughts?

I have a GNex and an N7. The Nexus 7 increased the battery life of my GNex by 80%. Seriously, it's a great tablet, and you won't be disappointed. It is much larger than a GNex, but is very comfortable to hold with one hand, though not for one handed use as is possible with the GNex.

I never thought I'd be able to get used to how "small" the N7 was coming from a TF101 and I don't know how I managed with a 10" screen before.

IMO, they totally nailed it size wise.

I've basically stopped using my phone as anything other than a phone since I got the tab.

I have a TF700 which is also a 10" and had an impulse to buy the N7 a few weeks before Christmas.

The nexus is the perfect size, untouched pure android, and does a great job at just about everything. The camera on it is below what I would call standard, but since I have multiple other cameras, I don't dwell on it.

The price is right and the size is right. I love this thing and recommend you get one.

I'm also a member of the Galaxy Nexus/Nexus 7 crowd. The N7 is my first tablet, and I love it. Agree with others, the size is perfect. It's substantially larger than the screen on the GNex, but can still be held comfortably in one hand. I highly recommend picking one up.

Another TF700 owner, N7 impulse buyer here. I felt bad at first, buying something excessive I didn't need (who "needs" a tablet?) but I have to say I love the N7. If I had bought it first, I probably would not have bought the TF700. Far more responsive than the TF700 and a perfect, portable size.

I also have both a TF700 & Nexus 7 and I still mainly use the TF700 but not because of the size. They keyboard dock makes it perfect for my use, and I can't believe I didn't unlock and rom earlier. Installing CROMI really fixed a lot of issues with it. My GF really likes our nexus 7 and gets more use out of it than I do. I still love it though.

You hit on a key point - "perfect for my use". The final answer depends upon what you plan to use your tablet for and what are the key functionality issues for you, not us. My perfect may be your useless.

I have a GS3 (4.8"), so I didn't think that a 7" tablet would be much more of an upgrade in terms of size, but it really does make a difference. Everything is more enjoyable to use on the N7, and it is so easy to carry around and hold with one hand. As El Presidente said above, I only use my phone as a phone now too.

My only regret is not buying the 3G version so I can use it when I'm out and about!
