Help Nexus 7 Media playback

Forgive me for asking but...

Wouldn't it be simpler to update to 4.2 so you don't get the updated "nag" anymore?
Am I missing something here?

My hunch is the update failed for him and he hasn't gotten around to fixing it yet, since 4.2 isn't that big of an upgrade anyway.

This is correct. Although it did work previously it was riddled with bugs and I couldn't accommodate using it so I'm trying to stay on 4.1 for as long as possible.

Still no response from ASUS. Google refund/replacement form seems to be broken for me and I'm unable to file a claim.

I can tell it's going to be a very long process already.

EDIT: Was taking a look at the battery monitor in the settings and I was greeted with this. It confuses the hell out of me, how could it just go dead flat and drop from over 75%?
