Help Nexus 7 - Non Google Play content...

I am seriously considering getting a Nexus 7 when it is released, but after some intensive googling I couldn't find an answer to this question.

Can I play content that is not purchased from Google play on the Nexus 7?

I have a lot of digital content, Music, video, comics etc. I would assume that I could but it would be next to useless to me if I couldn't

Yes you can, Google Play is an optional store. you can install apps that are not from Google Play, and use any media, aslong as your tablet supports the format (or has an app that does).

I have a similar question. Does the Nexus 7 come with a stock video player or would I have to download one from the app store? All of the videos that I would watch on the Nexus 7 I will be transferring over from my Mac via USB.

Short answer is yes. The built in Gallery his video functionality. And VLC for Android is coming soon.
