Hi, I bought a nexus 7 a couple of weeks ago in Argos,, and now top half of the screen is not responding to touch. I can't find the receipt and they won't accept it back. I have done a hard reset but with no difference. Any solutions?

A Warranty issue, for sure ... one wonders how you paid for it? If it was purchased online then certainly the banking details would qualify as proof-of-purchase, the same with cheque. Cash would be a difficult argument to support, but nobody uses that for such purchases anymore ... hopefully your bank records exist.
Was the device registered with Google? That's an avenue to explore for Warranty issues.
Outside of the hard reset that you already tried, no. You could ask your question (or have a Mod move this thread) in the Nexus 7 forum to see if anyone else experienced this. Like the others have said, I think a warranty return is your best bet in the long run.
