Nexus 7 will be a flop

Yep, the form factor is brilliant. I actually use my 3G 7.7 (ICS at last!) more than my phone these days, the only time I don't take it out with me is when booze, gym, mountain biking or football is involved :)

After toying with cases, I use mine naked now (bar a quality leather sleeve I bung it in), such a sweet device should not be beschmirched by a case! Same will apply to the N7 I'm sure.

Only flaw with the 7.7 is that JB is about as likely to appear on it as something very unlikely indeed, heyho. ICS is a huuuuge improvement over HC though, actually feels like a non-beta os, so I've no complaints.

I paid $139 for a KF during the Mother's Day fire sale (no tax, free shipping) on Amazon. Compare to the $278 I just paid for the N7 and it's a different price point.

So you're going to compare a 1 day sale on a REFURB 8GB model to a NIB 16GB with tax/shipping.
Fair comparison IMO.

It'll be interesting to see what the Kindle Fire 2 looks like. Honestly I fail to see it being quad core/as fast as the N7, but likely to be more like the existing Kindle Fire, with a few tweaks.

the allure of the N7 is not just the hardware, but the software as well.
the Fire is running an old, locked down OS with a crappy browser and limited apps available.

THIS. There are people I know that say that android is buggy and slow and yet they've never even used one! That's when I throw my evo at them and ask them where the problems are. Fight the ignorance my friend.

Let's not act like it wasn't true until ICS, which was/is still a bit choppy and not as fluid as iOS or WP.

I realize long ago no matter how much improvement Android make, the nay-sayers will find something to dis-like. If this fluid and smooth was what make ios and windows great and stand tall above the rest, why windows phone struggling?, Samsung out sells the iphone? and Android market share is above all.? It's simple CHOICE. Can you image going into a car dealership and the only choice you have is a black or white vehicle?.

I can see any iteration of the surface failing miserably.:D Anybody that has that much money laying around to buy a tablet is going to buy an ipad. Also, the interest in that tablet is so minimal that it might as well have not been released.

Dude you read my mind. I was thinking the same thing. With that much money i would just buy an ultrabook or an ipad. Those ASUS zenbook look amazing.

I can honestly say 2.3 was just as if not a little better (do to options that worked for me) than the 3gs which is what I came from.... The 3gs was/is a bit clunky and it did hang up quite a bit in apps even stock apps like music. At least for me it did. I guess I was just one of the few who always had problems with iOS and felt it wasn't as polished as its made out to be.

It's a myth that iOS runs 100% problem free; all technology falls over occasionally and the worst offender is Windows which is why there's no way I'd buy the Surface. MS have had decades to perfect their OS, yet it's still crap. Mud sticks and MS have peed off the entire world with various iterations of Windows; lets' face facts, an entire industry exists just to protect you from it's short falls; anti virus! I will never buy an MS machine again. Simple as that, I'd go Apple rather than MS.

Who said that? Certainly not me.
The iPhone sells for many reasons, its refinement being just one of them.

Your arguments are really poor.
You are comparing an entire brand to a line of phones with that Samsung statement.
OS market share? Let me know when Apple starts whoring out their current phones under hundreds of different manufacturers to 3rd world countries for peanuts.

Before I get called out for being an Apple fan, I've never even owned an iPhone and I love my GNex. I'm also unbiased and am not afraid to admit that certain aspects of other OS are better than Android (and vice versa, which is why I'm using Android).

I think they were talking in general. I see it a lot on reviews comparing how smooth iOS is and how everything always "just works". Which makes me wonder if the reviewers use the devices for anything but texting and email.

But I will admit the statement I quoted in my other post made it sound like you did indeed say that iOS and Windows phone are smoother than Android. Or maybe you were just asking about the "Stand Tall" part?

Maybe not totally fair, no. But neither is the $200 KF - $200 N7 comparison, either. I was just taking an extreme position to its logical conclusion.

FWIW, I got buyer's remorse after pre-ordering the N7 and canceled the order. I may change my mind after the hardware hits the street; I just didn't see any need to rush to it.

completely agree that it's not worth arguing anymore the truth is in the numbers.
