Help Nexus almost gave me a heart attack today

Shortly after waking up, I went to send a text. Phone wasn't responding. Black screen, buttons not doing anything, nada. Like a brick. Holding the power button eventually gave me a flash of a red notification light.

I about **** myself. I plugged it in to my computer and it didn't recognize it of course. I let it set for a few minutes and finally the charging screen came up. I was then able to power it up. I thought at first, hmm...must not have charged overnight. But according to the phone it is fully charged. Any ideas what this might be? I'm running stock.

I've also been more convinced not to go with an iPhone...mainly because all of my iPhone owning friends have been mocking me all morning over it, lol.

I've occassionally had something similar, where the phone simply stops responding .. but I have no idea what causes it

Like you say, holding the power button until it restarts seems to do the trick.

Have to say, it's moments like that I kinda wish the battery was removable

As for iMockery, I get it all the time from my fangirl better half. The really irritating thing - and I really, really hate having to admit this - is that her phone really is more reliable than mine. Pretty much every time I try to one up her with a superior Android feature, even when it's something I use all the time, it fails miserably. Whenever she tries to do the same to me, her phone works perfectly. Drives me mad :banghead:

If you get an Xperia Z1/ Z2 you could drop it in water. Get her to drop the iphone in also, then you'll see who wins ;)

Pretty sure iOS7 made the iPhone waterproof :p

The funny thing, one of my friends trying to get me to switch is on his 3rd iPhone 5, lol. Good thing he bought Apple Care I guess.

I did end up relocking my bootloader just in case I have to send it in.
