Nexus One 2.3.6 OTA Feedback

It only seems to do it for the first connection to a device after updating. Hasn't happened for subsequent connections. More of a curiosity than anything else.

One thing I've noticed for sure is that the phone is faster and my TasKiller shows 150-200+, where as before it would bog down below 100. Same number of apps running and everything.

Your phone would be even faster if you deleted the task killer, there is no reason to use one.

Huh? I just went into my picture gallery and I was able to zoom in using the magnifying glass buttons in the bottom right.

Yeah I can't "Pinch Zoom" in picture gallery again since upgrade to 2.3.6. Very Dissapointing. Is there any way to activate this feature again?

I find it a little odd that the pinch to zoom feature would be deliberately disabled. My guess is it was an "oops". I prefer QuickPic for browsing photos.

I noticed yesterday that after the update my hotspot SSID was reset to a generic one. It kept my password, but I had to change the name back so that my Flyer could find it.

Just checked, and pinch and zoom does not work in the gallery anymore. So keep your eyes open for 2.3.7 !

Yeah, I got my update two or three nights ago about the time I got home from the bar ;-)... the only problem I had was that it reset my personal wifi login. I reset it and smooth sailing...

Nexus One since February 2010 and not looking back...

Confirmed, pinch zoom no longer works, but double-tap (or zoom button tap) still zooms as normal. Minor nuisance. Hope it's fixed.

Well, I'm getting a Prime soon anyway so I guess I don't care that much.

I've recently started using QuickPic and I quite like it. The "standard" Gallery has a nicer interface for the folders (3D and all), but QuickPic is much faster and the pinch-to-zoom still works.

One more thing I've noticed about the *new* Gmail app: you get a notification when something changes in your inbox, not just when you receive a new email.

Example: I'm on my computer and I accessed gmail. I read an email that was new and then deleted it. I then get a "new email" notification on my phone. I open Gmail and there is no new email; it's just that something has changed in the inbox.

I don't like this at all. Furthermore, the wording in the Gmail settings is "Notify in Status bar when email arrives" - it says nothing about "something changed in the inbox".

Just noticed very minor change, better IMHO.

With CLOCK if you had alarms & wanted to change them it took you through the lock/unlock screen to do so then again when finishing with alarm changes. No longer! Now easier & quicker...

I went back to 2.3.4, since 2.3.6 more or less broke my wifi. Maybe Ice Cream Sandwich will fix this, but I'm not holding my breath - Google still has not been able to fix the clock synchronization bug they introduced with Gingerbread, so I no longer put much trust into their technical competence.

I have no problems with Wifi. Maybe check what channel or what band your wifi is on. I've noticed some issues on 5Ghz.

No idea about the cause, but there are plenty of threads about the issue on Google's support forums, so I know I'm not the only one. Returning to 2.3.4 fixed it, and I'm fine for now - I have blocked the 2.3.6 OTA from "infecting" my phone again, there did not seem to be any improvements for me in it anyway.

One thing I've noticed since getting 2.3.6: first connection to a Bluetooth device, even one with which I had already paired, prompted me to allow or deny the connection. Anybody else notice this?

After the update, I found it difficult to connect my nexus s and my motorola headset via bluetooth. I even encountered reboot (2x) while sync-ing my phone and headset.
