I have the dock and use it for music. It is a little pricey, but for me it was well worth it. It doesn't take up a lot of room. A nice feature is that you can use the music feature over bluetooth without the phone actually being in the dock. I have been very pleased with it.

I use the dock at home with my stereo to stream music works great also charges phono faster than usb I think.

I quite like it, when you put the phone into the dock it automatically turns on bluetooth and connects audio to the dock, although I'd prefer it if there was the option to stop it from turning off audio when you remove the phone. I tend to connect the phone to the dock manually via bluetooth so then I can take the phone out of the dock to use it for something without the music being disturbed. I also find that Beyondpod tends to give jittery audio playback when switching from phone audio to bluetooth audio, not just with the dock but with other bluetooth speakers too. I don't know if other players do this as I only really use Beyondpod. Killing Beyondpod then restarting it fixes the issue.
Overall, yes it's good, I'm thinking of buying another one in fact, I use one beside my bed and take it into my office when I'm working, might get two, although I don't know what will happen if both are in range, not sure how I'll differentiate between them, I can see me connecting to the dock in my bedroom and the music coming from my office which is nearby.

The desk dock is nice but a little pricey: $45
I have mine hooked up to a line input on my home stereo. I stream Pandora that way.
One nice feature is that it uses bluetooth to connect the phone to the dock for audio. Which allows you to play or stream music to it while the phone is not in the dock. So it's like having a remote control for the stereo in your phone. I can only wander 10 to 20 feet from the dock but it is cool to be able to control the music with the phone without having to go over to the stereo or use a second remote.
One thing I noticed with my setup is that the supplied audio cables weren't long enough for me to reach to the back of my stereo from where I decided to place the dock. You might not have this problem with your setup. The good news is that the audio cable is not hard-wired. The back of the dock has a 3.5mm jack that you plug in the RCA audio cable into. I used an extension with 3.5mm Male on one end and a 3.5mm Female on the other.

I have the audio piped into my PC's line in jack. I manage all my podcasts on the phone, and I sometimes want to listen to them while I'm at the PC. Rather than used headphones/mediocre N1 speaker, or re-downloading stuff, I just use the dock. Works beautifully. Had to poke around in sound settings to allow the audio to output through the speakers, but it wasn't hard.

You don't need the dock if you want to connect to a stereo. You just need an adaptor from the headphone jack to whatever your stereo requires. The dock comes with a mini phone plug to RCA plug adaptor, which plugs into the headphone jack on either the dock or N1.
