Hello,
I've had a Nexus One for a couple of years now. It is stock, as received from Google with all normal updates via T-Mobile. I do have apps on it that I installed from the Market Place. I have not installed new software in over two months.
My last normal call on it was Friday, May 11. It worked fine. On Sunday, May 13 I tried calling someone. I made three attempts. Each time I could hear them fine, but they could not hear me. Tried using the speaker phone it also did not work. Even tried using apps that took voice commands and they could not pick up my voice. The microphone has never stopped working in mid-call. It only seems to stop working when the phone is idle.
Rebooting does not solve the problem.
Removing that battery fixes the problem half the time. When it works, if I make a call immediately, the microphone works. Try it again, in as little as a few minutes, the microphone is no longer working.
Performed a hard reset, erasing all my data in the process only fixed the problem for a few minutes.
I thought my problem was solved on May 17 as the microphone worked for several hours after a soft reset. But tried using it again yesterday and today, and it stopped working again.
I feel it is a software issue, not a hardware issue.
Any ideas as to what I can do?
