Nexus One Sim unlock

I wanted to make sure. Are all nexus ones unlocked to use on at&t? The reason I need to know is I might be buying one from someone on craigslist but it says its not unlocked. Everywhere I've read for the nexus says its an unlocked phone. Need to make sure before I buy.

Correct, SIM unlocked. However... if its not the ATT version, you won't get 3g on it.

Actually, he thought it was locked to t-mobile.

Double check that you put the SIM in the proper way. I had that issue when I threw my friend's international SIM on and it didn't work. When I took it out, realized i had it in reversed.

Is the phone a AT&T or Tmobile version. Make sure that you have the right carrier information set on the phone.

If he bought it from t-mobile, it is locked to t-mobile, and I don't think there's any way to make it work on at&t (or any other carrier).

The carrier unlocked version was only available from goggle's website.

No, that is not true. Even though some people can get the N1 with a tmobile contract, they had to order it through the Google store. All N1 orders were only available through the Google Store before it was closed (exception was Virgin Mobile in UK). That being said, both TMobile and AT&T versions of N1 came unlock.
