Nexus One vs iPhone 4!!!!

If you haven't purchased your phone yet, I would like to make a suggestion. If at all possible wait until the iPhone 4 is released, buy it, and then sell it on ebay. Use the proceeds from the sale to purchase your unlocked nexus one on at&t. I did that with my 3gs about 3-6 months ago and was able to totally cover the cost of the nexus (not including tax unluckily - 550 for it). That would also allow you to play with the iphone for a couple weeks to see what all the hubbub is about.

Sorry but for a woman on her 1st Smartphone the iPhone's simple what you see is what you get is prob better for her. When my G/F uses my N1 its like she has lost the ability to think, 'how do I do this?' 'wheres the button for that'...... :D

Dunno man; my girls not techie at all and she had the same amount of confusion with my Iphone as she does with my Nexus.

People who don't "Get it" generally are baffled by all smart phones in my clearly limited fiance experience.

Oh dear goodness...lol :p

If she wants to, she can learn the iPhone much quicker and more easily than the Nexus.

I think thats a big part of it... most girls could really use iphones/android phones if the wanted to, its just not something that most are interested in.

long time lurker *waves* high :)

1) A possible successor to N1 right after I buy it; yet, that's the game of electronics isn't it? :)
2) Another android superphone that may have better hardware than the N1
You will never own another phone again then my friend.

Even if something new does come out.. n1 still has a 1 ghz processor and is from alll accounts i've read a rock solid phone.

*edit*

and for what it is worth.. part of the issue of iphone being "easier" to learn is simple.. everyone has one.. everyone wants one.. Its easier for people to justify not knowing how to use an android phone in their head.. 'well this is more complicated'...but, 'everyone can use an iphone'.

It's not that easy to choice really...

iPhone still has his own stuff....there is no phone in the world give you that sensitive multi-touch input feel, Music/Video is amazing...and with now a faster processor and new display...I think it still rules its own ways!

but also N1 still has all these great features the guyz talked about...

every device has its own issues...so I think it's personal manner!!

for me I use both, iPhone 3GS for personal use and N1 for my work :D

I can't comment on the new iphone...

But, I can say that apple products suck with audio quality.. I doubt n1 is much better..

But, your kidding yourself if you think that apple media players have much more than mediocre playback :/...

Yes, that "amazing feel of flesh against glass and plastic. I'm getting shivers.

I'm currently considering a Nexus One or an iPhone 4 too, and I was hoping if someone could compare the music players in the two phones for me. You see my iPod Touch has seen better days, and I would love to have everything on one device.

Right now I'm leaning towards the N1. I love the customizations you can do with Android over Apple's operating system, but the media player, on my Cliq anyway, isn't very good. I'm wondering if the N1's is better?

Honestly.. if you want a good media player.. get a Cowon s9 or Sony Walkman x

I haven't heard from the n1.. but, I doubt iphone 4g is gunna be any better than ipod touch or anything.. and while iphone isn't a horrible media player.. its average in terms of audio quality...

Although the room is there for there to be a great n1 player with the power its packing (iphone 4 as well)... I wouldn't hold my breath.... None of these are aimed at audiophiles.

Yooo hooo.... I'm adding my husband to the "most girls" group - he really has absolutely no interest in gadgets of any sort, in fact, I'm considering counselling as he will not let me chuck away his LG3310 and buy him a new phone!!!

The stock player definitely isn't going to win any awards. But there are a lot of options on the market to take its place. Btunes is similar to your itouch interface. I am currently using a media player from doubletwist. I think its the best out there for android right now. Very nice interface, it only lacks a widget to make it awesome. The only thing you may miss is the genius playlist, I know I do.

hehehehe, it's still better than the Nexus, the Nexus is very good...but I still think iPhone is better on this section!

anyway....it's an android forum...what do I'm expecting :D

Here's my 2 cents/pence.
I love apple products. I love the way they just work. The iPhone and its ecosystem works. But it is closed. If you don't mind that then the iphones for you.

I moved to android 2 months ago from iPhone 3g and haven't regretted it. I got my n1 today as a replacement for a faulty legend. So far I love android. I love that the notification system is so well built in to every part of the os - unlike iPhone. I love the multitasking. Syncing seems to be more instantaneous.

IPhone OS is slicker in looks only imho. But android flows better. Social network integration and messaging is top class. The nexus One's voice to text feature is impressive.

Its a tough Choice...

Honestly, these are both great phones. I think the only things the iPhone would have over the Nexus is the front facing camera, and the display thats supposed to be great. Other then that, I dont see much else better. The nexus display is way more then good enough and I dont want to say its overkill for the iPhone but with everything else, people always want better so it is a selling point for the iPhone. The front facing camera is cool though. But you cant customize your iphone like you can the nexus or any other android phone. Nexus will keep getting updates, iPhone wont. I think the iPhone is a great phone and has some nice features, but still not amazing enough to topple Android. Android will always be evolving, and it happens with the updates. iPhone users have to wait for another one to come out.

Apple makes great products (though their PCs and laptops are too expensive).

1. I hate iTunes.

2. I LOATHE -- and when I say LOATHE, I mean it makes me RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE -- the lack of regular USB support/transfer on Apple portable/mobile products.

3. I hate AT&T.

It's not a touch decision for me.

I love my Nexus One.

Well not for nothing but the iPhone 4 is going to change the way people do sexting forever, depending on your thoughts about sexting, it could be a game changer.

Sexting = way for stupid horny 14 yr old's to feel grown up

I dont think I could ever imagine an adult actually thinking of this feature as a major selling point ;)

I really hope everyone realizes I am kidding.

I know I do lol, I'm purchasing this thing in t minus 1 hour! I can't wait! Hopefully it comes tomorrow!!

I loved the iPhone, I really did. It no doubt revolutionized the smart-phone industry. NO DOUBT. Now that Android is on the market, I believe people need to make a decision:

The coddling of Apple (not necessarily bad for every end-user)..
OR
The open freedom posed by Android from Google.

I'm so glad I sided with the N1. I am actually jealous of a few specs on the I4, but really, not enough to keep me in their prison! I can't wait to break free!

Simply put. It is quite amazing how the one year old N1 holds up to this new Apple offering. I have no desire to switch. That said, I can understand why all current iphone owners are excited to upgrade. It makes their current phone feel/look very outdated.

My challenge @ the moment is to keep the wife in the N1/android bandwagon. (easier with docks and syncing and all that if we have one smart phone platform in da house). She's currently on an old nokia and looking to switch to her first real smart phone. So who here has a good not too techy reason for not going the iphone4 route?

The N1 is 6 months old not a year old but whos counting :p
