If someone buys from this guy or his website please let me know how it goes. I am kinda of hestitant to deal with the website hes selling through becuase the disclaimers on it say they have no way of helping you if you get the shaft....
 
I did some research on that site ecrater and it is not really like ebay. Its a store selling on their site. So anything bought or sold is between paypal you and the store. But it is legit and a alternative to ebay for small time sellers trying to make money.
 
Well haven't heard back from him since it was supposed to go out this afternoon during his lunch break as per our agreement and he hasn't texted/called/emailed - so I'm filing a dispute in PayPal and have alerted my bank CC. Phone goes straight to VM and nobody is picking up. He's also removed the ad - if anything changes I'll keep this updated.

If I get a call/txt with the tracking # then I'll wait till I get the item before I remove my dispute.
 
Yeah did you go through the ecrater site or directly through him? Actually it wouldnt even matter becuase ecrater states its not liable and whatever the members due is between you and the seller... I had a funny feeling about the seller... Good luck with the refund or receiving the phone keep us updated!!!
 
Nah just went through PayPal+CC - currently have a dispute open and have alerted my CC. They said if anything happens call us and we'll do a charge back.
 
Its really funny, i was thinking about purchasing a phone off of him that he had listed for 180, and abou two hours before you posted you bought this phone he sent me a pm saying hed sell it for 100 dollars even only if i could send payment within the hour! i decided not to becuase of the shadiness it smelled like and that morning the link was gone!

Well I've got an open Claim going with PP - as soon as it shows up with my CC I can dispute it there too. Glad I paid with PP+CC.

He's no longer replying to texts. He's definitely a kid in his teens 15-18 and goes to high school in Diamond Bar Ca. That's all I'll say for now. He's also gotten his uncle involved since the PayPal address was supposedly his... whatever I'm kinda over this.
 
Ha good thing paypal gives you the address and name of the seller!!! and thank god for google you can look up the kid on facebook and see what he looks like and what his house looks like!!!

Actually he gave me his address, name, cellphone address - I've Google mapped his house too. He's also a tool for using PayPal :p

seriously? You're the one who dropped off the map with out any communication. It might be weird but if we agreed on an agreement on shipping and it wasn't made that's what happened.

No one is coming to your house with your shotgun either homie. Get on gchat if you're legit. I've got tons of feedback on the internet on forums all over the place - you don't so you have to prove to me you're legit.

Solution - call me up or text me. Get on gchat.
 
Good luck with this man. I was screwed out of an HD2 on xda awhile back and the dude went off the map completly. Haven't been able to get it back. He's like 28 and i was 17 and tried to screw me out of something i worked my ass off for. You can't trust anyone in this day and age, its really sad.
 
Alright - guess that's what happens when dealing with a kid. He's apparently in the thought that I was out to scam him with a CC chargeback so that I'd get his phone and get my money back. Apparently the lack of communication for 8hrs was not a legit concern for me in his mind. He didn't text/email/call me nor would he answer my calls or texts. That in my head is weak because texting takes like 10seconds whether you're in class etc.

He's already said that he's selling the phone to someone else - so I'm just as glad that I got out when I did because he won't be able to get/receive/move any money till my Claim is finished/resolved with that PayPal account. Apparently this kid has a lot of paypal accounts and is totally cool with popping up new accounts whenever one gets claimed against.

I'm done with this - just waiting for PayPal to refund my money since the phone is already gone to someone else.
 
I think that you caught this kid in the scam early on and didnt let it go on with giving him time to claim the money and get out... its always a scam when the reason they didnt do something because they thinkng your scamming them when your the one who payed or sent the item.... i bought my epic from a sprint store and then and bought an evo for my girlfriend as a bday gift off a forum that i have a good reputation on and got scammed leaving me 400 in the whole and no gift for my girl... i have been trying so hard to get her a phone because she has a crappy one but i m nearly broke now! so i know how it is.. and am glad that your going to get your money back!!!
 
Matty Mo - been around the block on the net for a long time. Done my time with high end guitars, computers and cellphones. This was my one humanitarian mission believe in the good of human kind type of deal - I even talked to this guy on the phone etc. It sounded legit but since he was not punctual with his stuff I caught on and bounced out.

Yeah the old I thought you were scamming me shit is weak considering if he had mailed it and provided PayPal the proof of hsipping it out and me signing for it the next day they would have removed the hold and given him the money. With the sounds of him having like more than one paypal account I woudln't be surprised if he would be moving th emoney around accounts before finally withdrawing it.

Lesson learned - do future deals lcoally with cash only OR only do deals online with heavy duty gear whores online with solid reputations. I might have reacted a bit prematurely but I've lost $500 on a laptop recently and I wasn't going to loose more money over this.
