ok guys noob question here ive never bought a device from the Google playstore and well the nexus 5 will be the first device im will buy from the playstore and i was wondering how does it work ? can u buy the device with just a credit card or do u need something else?

Credit cards work just fine, not sure if you can use any other method TBH. Maybe paypal, but I don't think so. Prices listed are without sales tax and shipping, so that will be tacked on top. I know the East Coast shipments come out of Louisville, Kentucky. Not sure about West Coast.

Or you can get some google play cards if there are some in your area but you might need quite a few....

This will be my first time purchasing a Nexus from the play store. Hopefully there will be some left by the time I get the chance lol.

West coast also gets shipments from KY.

Hopefully, you won't get the same stock issues there were last time however, just in case I would recommend you set up your credit card and address on your Google account ahead of your purchase (I'm assuming you can do this).

When I got my N4 I was in race to get my order in before the stock disappeared (which it did about 10 mins after my order was accepted) and having to setup my CC and enter my address definitely slowed me down. I actually wound up missing a line of my address which caused problems with the CC approval and - eventually - delivery

When I bought the Nexus 4 I had to add a credit card to my Google Wallet account so I would suggest you add a credit card to your Google Wallet right now so that you can just select it when you try to buy the phone instead of having to enter it at that time.

Lol ...yeah this is funny but true ....When it releases every little second will count ....having such a small thing ready will be huge ....I mean I hope they are better prepared this time .....I am certain that the nexus 5 is gonna be huge this year . ..and from what I hear they'll be releasing the white model also which I'm glad ....I just wish these company's were better prepared ...it's aways hard to get some of these phones ....Samsung Does pretty good now ....but apple and the nexus 4 were hard to get....also I noticed that Google release there website at 12pm pst ..so that's in the middle of day everyone is up ....I like when ya can order at midnight easier to get .....lol

If Google doesn't get their crap together this time I'll be surely pissed. Last year it was just me buying, and I can wait. But Mrs g_patrick15 is stuck with a Galaxy S2 that's on it's last leg. I got her on board the Nexus bandwagon now so we're both getting it. I'll wait to buy mines, but she wants to order hers immediately so hopefully it's widely available this time around.

I had quite a time getting a Nexus4 for my spouse for last Christmas. It seemed to be in stock when I was elsewhere and never when I could stop and order it. They have more stock , this time , hopefully to prevent that problem.
They usually except your google account and credit card some times. Not pay pal beause it is owned by eBay not Google...The price in the UK includes VAT ( UK 20% sales tax) and shipping is usually next day.
