NexuS S for AT&T any day now!

Bleh.. if your going to root your phone anyway there is no disadvantage between samsung and any other phone..

Feel lucky that Captivate has cyanogen available. Us Epic owners (sprint variant) have to fiddle with lesser roms and hope for the best. I haven't found one that 100% works flawlessly on my phone yet. Some others have been luckier.

I would much rather be trying to flash roms on an HTC device.

Yeah, it's not a huge hit on the Epic forum. LOL I'm sure it's a nice phone, but the lack of external (expandable) memory kills it for me.

It's crazy how many high end Android phones do not have a dedicated camera button. It's not like they have other buttons and ran out of room. I can't remember about the Atrix, but HTC Inspire has NO buttons on the right side of the phone. Perfect place for a camera button! Button right! Perfect placement on Epic. :)

I don't know what the big deal is with a dedicated camera button. I don't miss it at all. You can use an icon on homescreen, or I just use go launcher. You can program swipe up and swipe down. I have swipe up for camera. The only time a real button would be useful is for taking pics of yourself, and I just use self timer for that. I like the lack of physical buttons.

I don't want to get used to not having something. Just give it to me and let me decide if I want to use it or not. I hardly ever use the on screen buttons. I can hold my phone with one hand and make it focus, and take the pic. I can't do that with the on screen buttons.

The inspire has autofocus, or you can choose to focus by touching the image. Very easy with one hand. I use the timer mostly to snap, so the phone can be perfectly still.

Well I don't have the luxury of borrowing your hands so I can take a pic. *I* cannot always hold the phone in such a way to press the center of the screen, much less press the far end of the screen.

What if you're taking a picture of yourself? Do you hold the phone out and stab at the screen that you cannot see and hope you hit the right spot? Edit...I see what you said about the self timer. That would annoy me to no end to have to reset the self timer every time I wanted to take a pic of myself.

That is really worth not having a tiny little button on the side of the phone?? Seriously??

Like I said, I use the two or ten second timer a lot. But it sounds like an actual button is really important to you. I did a little research, the only at&t android with a dedicated camera button I could find is the Motorola Backflip. Options are severely limited. I would look at other carriers, see what phones they have with your specifications.
