Help Nexus S stopped working

I've had my Nexus S for about a year now and all was working ok. A couple of weeks ago, my phone overheated through normal use and now the battery won't keep a charge and the phone heats up when I charge it. I tried getting a new battery, but i'm still having issues and the phone is still hot when charging. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks

is your battery oem? are you charging the battery with the device that came with phone? if you say no to either it could cause issues

I'm using the battery that came with the phone. The battery drains even when the phone is completely turned off.
