Nexus system updates serious issues

Hi, I have a Galaxy Nexus, and about once a week for the last 5 weeks, I get a system update notification on my phone. As would anyone, i hit install now. It tells me the phone must restart, which it powers down. Then the word google appears, as if it is restarting, but thats where it stays, for periods of 3-8 hours, black screen with google across it. Now i dont think system updates take that long, cause after 5 system updates like this, I am still running 4.0.2 What is wrong with my phone?

Hello rig_lufe and welcome to Android Forums. I'm guessing you are hung in the middle of the same install over and over. I would suggest checking into the Nexus discussion area for help. Those guys know your phone well and the system upgrade you are having the battle with. I'm certain you can get the advice you will need to get over the hump of that install.
