Help Nexus TV player

Hi got the player and thought I could down load kodi through the play store. Will down load. But will not stream anything need help with this don't know if I have done something wrong any help please.
 
Much of the "free" streamed content available via Kodi is in fact pirated, e.g. Popcorn, and quite possibly your ISP is blocking them. Required by law in the UK. Although there's a lot of legal content on there, what have you actually tried.
 
Hi tried BBC iPlayer and itv player but would not stream anything, have a cheap Chinese android TV box and that streams OK so do not know what's happening.
