Nexus5 Google Now gone

Guest
I have used Google Now for over a year now. It is amazing. Suddenly it doesn't exist. If I swipe to the left of the home screen it doesn nothing. If I swipe up on the home button it simply focuses the Google Search bar, and brings up the keyboard.

I searched for "Turn on google now" here and it says "Open this app [Google]" with an icon for the "Google" app. When I try and load this app it simply repeats the focussing on the Google Search bar and displaying the keyboard.

I've tried to search for anyone else who has had this problem but come up empty.

I tried but it wouldn't let me through the normal way I uninstall apps. I just realised I can do it from the Play Store though. I "uninstalled" which actually removed any updates. I then updated the app again, and all works perfectly.

Thanks!

It did completely remove all icons from my home screens and replace them with factory default which is super annoying, but fixable
