Help NFC Functions until you add Magnetic Mount

I use tap to pay more every week and I've found a very frustrating problem. The NFC chip doesn't seem to work once the mounting plate for my scosche audio magnetic mount is installed. The plate itself is not magnetic but it seems to generate enough interference for the tap to pay scanner to believe the signal isn't genuine.

Has anyone run into this issue?

Can anyone tell me where exactly the NFC chip is located on the Device?

Update:
Haha I open up my phone and it says NFC right there on the battery.
