So if NFC is a fried chicken restaurant, and I have NFC on my phone... Does this mean I will have fried chicken with me everywhere I go? Can I transfer fried chicken from phone to phone? ;)

My phone and tablet have it. Since Verizon hasn't supported Google Wallet (which I've used maybe twice) it's a pain to get it working and just no faster than swiping a debit card. For any other uses, nah, never use it.
Curious to see if the new iPhone implements NFC. I'd be really excited though as I think it's the only way mobile payment systems will take off is when the iPhone can do it.

iPhone doesnt have it. However I'm not so sure it's used that much by those who do have it. As far as transfers go, I'd rather Bluetooth files wirelessly rather than tap-tap phones. I can see it being used in high school more often than in public, but then I don't really have human friends to share with, either. Unless they like deer pics and 80s music, they probably wouldn't want to share with me if I did.

True.

I'd use wallet much much more if it were actually available most places. You can blame basically every carrier except sprint blocking it

I use NFC tags to set an alarm at night, connect guests to my WiFi network at hone, turn off WiFi/on GPS & ringer when I leave the house
