NFC & S Beam not working

I just wanted to know if anybody else is having the same problem. After the 4.3 update my phone no longer is able to beam music or pictures anymore. I checked my settings everything is on. When I try to to take transfer music to my wife's phone it does the vibrate part but it doesn't transfer anymore. Does anybody have a solution for this?
 
Which phone does your wife use? My g/f has a Galaxy Note 2 and I can't send her pictures by putting the phones back to back. She can send pics to me this way but when I try to send them to her, it just opens her camera app.
