Hi,
Can anybody please tell me whether the Galaxy S II in India has the Near Field Communication (NFC) chip or not? I have got conflicting views after looking around on the internet, and I can't find any settings or mention of NFC anywhere in the phone itself.

The Answer is NO NFC in Indian models. Only 2 out of three models of korea got the NFC as well as DMB. No other country have including europe as of now.

The phone itself was in a very high demand as such so they couldn't place in NFC for all phones due to short supply and I suspect they rushed production. The same reason goes for why some variants will have the tegra SoC and possibly a S-LCD display.

I have heard that this version of the phone will be called Samsung Galaxy R...
 
I do hear that there is an SD card on, or coming to, the market with a build in NFC chip. Not sure if it is microSD though... But hoping I can add this feature in the near future as in my area the tap pay terminals are going up, and I don't plan to have those cards in my pocket if I can avoid it. Pull I have some other ideas for software dev/testing ;)
