Night Mode

Hi all,

This is my first post. I have got a Samsung Galaxy S2 and was wondering if there is an app or setting within the phone that will allow me to switch the phone into a night mode automatically at a certain time and then back on at a certain time (similiar to what the blackberry does).

Don't know anything about BBs, so it would be helpful to know what you mean by "night mode".
I use Timmerific to control my phone automatically based on time.
If you want it to actually DO something, then look into getting Tasker.

I wanted the phone to either switch on and off automatically at a certain time or switch my notifications for everything on and off at a certain time but let me receive calls

There isn't anything that turn ON your phone automatically. But Timerific will handle turning off notifications and letting calls through. That's exactly what I have mine do.

I use Profile by Noimjosh. You can make as many profiles as you wish controlling tons of things on your phone. You can also setup easy time based rules to control when the profiles are active/inactive.

Tell me this: If your phone switches itself off at times, then how would it turn itself back on if the app needs to be running but the phone is off?

I am not sure, but the blackberry can do it and I was wondering if it was possible with an Android

Then it doesn't really work on Blackberry, as it isn't really turning off the phone.
