Help Nightmare After Firmware Upgrade

topgazza

Newbie
After upgrading to

Android 2.3.5

Sense 3.0

On my HTC HD

My phone seems to think its in a car dock and randomly goes into Car Dock mode. When I make a call the speaker comes on and I have what looks like a world map with an arrow at the top of the screen...also a small green android icon and the phone keeps telling me GPS is disabled for location services and do I want to enable it.

None of this happened before the upgrade. I've done plenty of searching for the problems I am having and there is a large number of suggestions and an equally large number of people with problems. None of which work and most seem to be speculation rather than pointing at what to me is a terribly buggy piece of software....and sadly typical of Android. Before I dump this phone and get a Nokia 800 or iPhone can someone confirm my thoughts....that this a firmware issue ?

I had the same problem when I first got my DesireHD

Turns out one of the pins in the charging port was bent/knackered
And the phone was replaced as it was only a day old
Since then I have been careful when charging and never had the problem since

Good luck bro

Thank you.

Found quite a few people saying the same thing. Mmmm...I'll have a inspection but as mine is out of warranty I'll probably just have to replace the phone

Had the same problem day one with mine

Turns out I was a bit ham fisted with the charge lead and bent one of the pins

Got the phone swapped

Intrigued as to your comment typical android though ?

To be fair I have had little trouble with Android at all. i was just reflecting on the issues people seem to have across the board across a wide range of phones with the various upgrades over the past year or so. Probably no worse than any other mind you.....just disappointed that my HD is playing up as i love it.

Seemed to have double posted

Sorry

I think anything mass produced and used in this way iiable to have issues
and beside read any product forum for anything and 95% will be people reporting some issue
Very few praiseworthy comments

I have just installed the new update for the Desire HD and my phone is to put it politely, f*cked!
It's slow as hell and keeps restarting itself as if it crashes. Apps that I've downloaded in the last few months don't seem to work anymore.
I'm at my wits end.
Help!

Have you tried a factory reset?

I had exactly this and so did a factory reset. It was a pain to have to reinstall everything but it was worth it. My DHD is like a whole new device :)
