The Samurai were considered nobility in Feudel Japan. The Ninja weren't. There is little documented history pertaining to the Ninja so some believe that the Ninja were recruited from the lower class of society.
Personally, I think I'd prefer being Samurai since historical books tend to indicate that they ate better, slept in nicer homes, and spent quality time with geisha's.
Ninja, their gritty tactics, master of deaths and jumping around in the shadows sound appealing. Besides I could hit it up with the Ninja Turtles for a cup of tea.
ninja assassin, anyone?!? those dudes could take out 50 samurai and they get paid 100 pounds of gold for their hits... who needs all that armor when you have the ability to vanish in shadows and take out swat teams? i'd rather be a bad a$$ mofo ninja fighting with jesus on my side
edit: i think a better question would be pirate or ninja... pirates have rum and wenches
I think you would survive longer as a ninja. Being a Samurai is great and all, but if you don't even SEE your opponent, then your life expectancy goes WAY down.
