No 3G or 4G in Houston TX area. (Freeport)

OK what's the deal??... I called Metro, told them I had to go out of town....(mom in icu) downloaded latest prl. Rebooted phone and have not had 3G or 4G since I left Dallas city limits. What's the deal? Even Cricket has good 3G coverage here.

Sorry to hear about your mom hope all is well, but the next time you complain about not getting coverage look to see if the coverage map even has coverage there because Houston doesn't, that's extended home area which is basically no cost roaming you only get 1x text & talk you can only get 3G & 4G in home areas

Problem was I wasn't even getting 1x. Talk and text only. I have to use hospitals wifi but when I leave the hospital I got no data what so ever. I called metro pcs and was told that data is not guaranteed outside of home area. So unfortunately I'm looking for a decent GSM phone now. I'm not long for this camp. I was with Cricket for a long time. Only reason not still with them is because I moved to Dallas. Can't keep service if not living in home area. But even with them I had 3g all over the country.

Yes. I'm here on wifi now in Lake Jackson, TX. No data. Lol.
