Help No 4G on my note 3

Sitting next to my girlfriend with her note 2, and she's got 4G service. My note 3 is in 3G. Both on Verizon, same settings on the phones. WTF? My signal strength is like -89 to +2, she's at -117 and +13. We're away from home but still what's up with this. Any help is greatly appreciated folks. Thanks in advance

Good question. I would like to hear any answers as well.

I am not in a 4G area, but have seen the following:
- when in a larger town my old Sprint phone was quick to *automatically turn on 4G antenna resulting in FAST speeds.

- NOT so with my Sprint Note 3. In fact i am trying to remember if the 4G antenna ever turned on.

Do i blame Sprint? Or do i blame the Note 3? Or do i blame myself?

drum-roll: Can I assume that your GF shaved her legs, and that you didn't? Know that I didn't shave my legs either..... AhHa!!! :smokingsomb:

Take the phone into a Verizon company store that has a repair center. Ask at the repair center a) why you're not getting 4G and b) if they can fix it or replace the phone with one that does get 4G. (It's still in warranty.)

2 things:

1) Don't act as if it's their fault, or as if they owe you something - even though both are true. Ask as if you're asking for a huge favor - even though you're not. It'll be so nice for them to get a customer who's acting nicely toward them that they'll WANT to make you happy. (Most people seeking technical help want what they want, they want it NOW, and they'd better get it!!!! They'll remember the nice guy with the phone that didn't get 4G for a long time.)

2) Back EVERYTHING up. If they have to replace the phone you'll get your SD card and battery back, but all the data on the phone stays with the one they keep.

Sorry all if I wasn't clear. My 4G works, I was only getting 3G at the same place where my girlfriend's phone got a good 4G signal. I can't believe the Note 3 wouldn't get 4G but the Note 2 did. You would think the newest note would have at least as good reception if not better.

My N3 will occasionally drop from 4G to 3G, when I notice this I reboot the phone. All is well after. Don't know why this goes on but the reboot solves the issue.

Indeed your signal strength can determine whether LTE is activated, and many things can affect how high your signal strength is, even if sitting close to someone who has a high signal strength, if the position where you are sitting has the radio signals obstructed by any objects in the house or network priority depending on which device requested data first.

You can try an application called LTE Discovery in the Google Play store if you want to stay connected to LTE constantly.
