No Apps Will Install

Son of Spam

Newbie
I've got a Sony Xperia (X10, I believe -- it was a replacement model).

Anyway, I had no problem downloading and installing apps until last week or so. Whenever I try to download and install an app -- regardless of whether its paid or free -- it hangs on the "Downloading..." message, then gives the following Error message:

" "[App Name]" could not be downloaded due to an error. (404)

I've followed the instructions I've found on the internet, namely Applications → Manage Applications → Market → Clear Data → Clear Cache and then back to Download Manager → Clear Data → Clear Cache. But to no avail.

This is extremely frustrating. I've tried to download some apps -- I've even paid for one -- and I can't get any enjoyment out of them. I called my cellphone provider (Koodo/Telus) but they said it was an Android market thing. And yes, I have data enabled.

And yes, I've tried to download and install using Wifi, but I get none in my condo.

Again, I have a Sony Xperia running on Android 2.3.3.

I have had a similar issue to this. It all started because I downloaded an app that ran out of space on my phones internal memory before finishing, this then seemed to hang in the system stopping any downloads.

I've followed the instructions I've found on the internet, namely Applications → Manage Applications → Market → Clear Data → Clear Cache and then back to Download Manager → Clear Data → Clear Cache. But to no avail.

I too followed the same instructions to no avail. Was was needed after clearing the data was a restart of my phone, after that everything was fine.
