Root No AT&T service on CyanogenMod rom. HELP!

Okay. I bought this phone off Amazon.com as an unlocked Skyrocket. I want to use it as an global phone for a trip I am taking to Australia and New Guinea. It came with a rom called CyanogenMod, version 10.1.2 -skyrocket. It seems to work fine but when I put my AT&T SIM in it it says there is no service most of the time. On occasion it shows service, but then it cuts off again.

Here is what I need to know, and quick! because I am leaving in 3 days.

1. Is this CyanogenMod rom thing a stable and good rom that I can trust while I am traveling overseas and can this AT&T service issue be fixed?

2. If CyanogenMod is not stable or my problem cannot be fixed, is there a way that I can put the stock rom back on the phone?

3. Will the stock rom allow me to use the phone as an unlocked phone when I travel (Meaning, will it work with sim cards from other services in other countries?)

Thanks.

1) The ROM and the SIM-lock are two totally separate issues. If the phone is SIM-locked, you can't use SIMs from other carriers.

2) Isn't Australia CDMA? That would mean that a GSM phone won't work over there. (I'm asking - I don't know, but I think so.)

3) You'd get more help if you asked on the Cyanogen Mod ROM forum. They have their own.
