Help No BoomSound over blue tooth - why?

blenky

Android Enthusiast
When I first got the phone I noticed the BoomSound icon in the notification bar when using either blue tooth or wired headphones.

However since the last update that added EPS BoomSound is now disabled when using blue tooth headphones :(

Does anyone know why this is?

A shame as it does add more punch.

Unfortunately with some BT headsets it was causing distortion so they removed it for all devices. It is too bad, they should have made it a toggle instead. I am sure it will make it's way back into ROMS in no time.

Interestingly I found this from HTCs own web site

3. Why is the HTC BoomSound setting grayed out?
HTC BoomSound

FWIW,the T-MOBILE variant was never able to use BOOMSOUND w/BLUETOOTH.

It's greyed out (BOOMSOUND) at all times, automatically on w/the on-board speakers & off when connected to external speakers, whether wired or wireless.

So.w/the T-Mobile version, there's no control over it whatsoever,it's all automatic.

As you say a toggle would have been nice! Set it to 'off' by default and allow users to choose. It worked great over my blue tooth headphones.
