Help No Contract Factory Data Reset Problem

I have a stock Droid X that is no longer on contract with Verizon.
I did a factory reset and now I can't get past the "activate" screen.

I want to root it but I can't get to the screen to enter USB debug.

Never mind.. I have don't know how I did it but I kept hitting combinations of buttons and I was able to get past the activate screen.
