I have been using Slimdroid V2.0 and have been quite happy. Flashed to V3, and all was fine untill yesterday when 4g 3g and no data, started popping in and out then finally no data connection at all. Voice and text are fine. Baseband flashed to V8. have good signal strength, but Mobile network is stuck on connecting, and IP address unavaiable. Any attempt to use internet connection results in "network error, no network connection, try again. I'm root and everything else so I want to try verizon as a last resort as I doubt i'll get anywhere with them.

Have you rebooted? If you have rebooted and your data still isn't there then toggle airplane mode. If that doesn't work then I would try a dirty flash of the rom, if that doesn't work then do a full wipe flash. If that doesn't work then I would do a cab restore.

Honestly you should just flash AOKP42 :]

I've had this issue arise a few times on roms, and if all the little tricks don't work usually a fresh install of the rom fixes it.

I've done everything except the cab reflash. Over on XDA there is a single post about a sim card issue during a rom flash that sounds very much like my issue. I'm going to call Verizon.

I didn't even think about a faulty sim card. That might be it. Especially since you've done clean flashes.

Factory Data rest fixed it. Almost all of slimdroid survived, only have to redownload some apps, and restore preferences. Not sure what happened, but it's ok now.

So you did a dirty flash and then the problems started? That's your problem. You should only dirty flash when updates are minor; if there are big version changes, the older data will corrupt when trying to be applied to the new version.

So unless you're flashing cm10 nightlies, wipe data and cache to get the best performance.

No not yet. I like the stockish roms. It might be an issue with V3. After a wipe and install it's fine, untill a reboot, then no data connect. Going back to V2 to see if thats the problem or something else is up. Also flashed the latest baseband so I might revert that next if this is fails to cure the issue.

I had the same issue about 3 weeks ago, went to Verizon, with CM10 r1 installed and after they played with it for 30 minutes they finally listened to me and put a new sim in, worked perfectly. (I walked in the door saying there was a SIM card issue, waited 40 minutes to get helped, then they took 30 minutes of playing with my phone and rebooting it before they tried a new SIM card...)

I was up and running again as soon as the phone powered back on after the new SIM was in place.

So far appears to be an issue with Slimdroid V3. Rebooted 2x and once with CWM recovery, in SD V2 and no issues so far. Now i'm stressing the data connection with downloads and reboots to see if it craps again.

Looks to be an issue in SlimDroid V3. No issues having returned to version 2. Sucks because I liked the look and feel of V3. Where can I find some screenshots of AOPK42?
