Help No Data?

Hi all, new to the forum and have a question about my phone. I have a Galaxy S4 Active, that is unlocked and my carrier is t-mobile. On the top of my notifications is that row of different things like "wifi", "GPS" "Screen Rotation", and so on. But there is no "data" button... If I am in a place with no wifi, I can never google something, because as it says "mobile data and wifi are turned off". But how do I turn data on? My plan has unlimited data, and my phone lets me use games and stuff with no wifi, just not the internet. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

I went to settings, and the only 2 boxes were "Mobile Data" and St Mobile Data Limit". Both were had the green check mark next to them.

Apparently your S4 Active has different screens in Settings than my Nexus.

Logically, I'd think a green check by 'Mobile Data' means it's enabled. And a green check by 'St Mobile Data Limit' means a limit has been set on the amount of data the phone can use. If you've exceeded such a limit that could certainly be the problem.

Since I don't have a S4 handy I can't give more specific help. All I can suggest is uncheck 'St Mobile Data Limit' and see if that does the trick.

Has data ever worked for you on your current carrier?
If not,,you maybe need to enter the APN settings.
I cant remember the samsung settings layout but have a look around in the mobile network settings for Access Point Names, select your carriers settings if theyre there or, if not, youll have to enter them manually so do a google search for "(your carrier) apn" and see if that helps

It's never worked. I just tried the APN thing, but my carrier was already selected. Nothing changed. Thanks anyways.

Would any screen shots help make it easier to understand what's going on? Also, do you think I should just c all levels up tmobile or samsung?
