No Digital Compass

So from what I understand, the One V does not have a digital compass.

This means, as far as I can tell, that the google navigation app or similar will not rotate as you do when driving.

Is that all or are other things affected that I am not thinking of? I assume GPS is still working in some form.

True, but as long as you're moving it will still orient in the direction of travel. But it does rotate sometimes when at a stoplight.

I have only just discovered the missing compass.

I go geocaching and couldn't work out why I had no direction arrow or 'compass' view on the apps I use. Judging by the reply I got when I queried the issue with the app developers, they didn't know either.

Bought my One V in January and this is only one of the issues with it, but I would definitely wouldn't have bought the phone had I known it had no compass sensor. Just didn't think for one moment it wouldn't have: all smartphones do, don't they?
