Help no email

hi guys, new here and new to android so easy on the tech jargon. got my htc legend late last year and had a few probs with it first i couldn't get it to sync with pc and still cant but i have give up on that one and put it down to some sort of issue with pc. whats bugging me now is i frequently lose internet, i still have bars but no data and it happens with wifi aswell. did factory reset about a week ago, what a nightmare lost all my apps and contacts etc but the problem still occurs and i cant access my emails it just says no mail. i can however access my work (hotmail) account and a newly set up gmail account but my main account is virgin.net . it was telling me that it could not connect to server but now it just says no mail. i checked settings on the account and pop3 and imap are both enabled. something else strange is when i tap on setup app i get sorry! the application settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again. force close. help!!

Email app on it has always been a bit iffy. You may want to try an alternative email application.

If you haven't already done so, use the appbrain website and download their app to help you browse apps more efficiently that the standard Android market app. I wont suggest a specific email app as there are loads of them out there and you need to pick what's right for you.

If that doesn't work though - and not saying it will, as it could be a problem with Virgin. You could try setting your Googlemail account up to retrieve your emails from Virgin, I recently trialled this with it picking up my Yahoo emails and it worked fine.

cheers that is exactly what i did do and i can now get my mail through both accounts.
