No flash on my nexus, can anyone suggest an alternative?

You can try photon browser. I use it for nhl.com highlights and it works good for me. However in googles play store it has mixed reviews but it might be worth a shot.

You download the apk file and install it via a file explorer. For certain things, I wouldn't recommend it, Play is good enough for most things. However for stuff like Flash (which is essentially abandoned on JB and above, but still works), it's the only way to go.

Is that enough? Need some links or a step by step?

Since Chrome won't work with flash, another good (fast) browser to try is Naked, and/or Boat, once you side load flash.
