Help No folders/files showing when connected to PC

I've just got the phone & am having an issue with it's internal files not appearing on my PC (Windows 10) under Devices and drives Moto G 5.

If I change the Select USB configuration option from MTP to charging & back to MTP it works, but only whilst the phone is connected, each time I connect the phone I have to go through the process again.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry to tell you that is the way it works now. There is no default to set to connect in MTP mode whne you plug it in. It's always charge-only.

You'd have to find a rom that supported that as a feature and I really don't know if there are any. It's been that way since Marshmallow.
