Help No home screen launcher!

I decided to give the Gingerbreak file another shot to see if I could root my Samsung Epic 4G and now I don't seem to have a home screen launcher. I rebooted my phone and everything seems fine. I see the status bar and can see the phone is going through its startup process. When I go to slide the button to get to my home screen it's all black and then I get this force close message;

"Sorry! The application TwLauncher (process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and I have a force close button. I hit that and it just keeps giving me that message. I can still see the status bar with the time, battery, cell bars etc. and I can even click on it and go into the status menu. From there I am able to go into the "Lookout" app but as soon as I try to return to the home screen I keep getting the force close message.

Did this soft brick my phone and what can I do to get it working again if I can. I had been using Go Launcher EX and not the stock launcher but it seems like it wiped out all of my launcher apps. Although I can't see anything on the screen its like the phone is working, I just don't have a home screen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Geez! Fortunately I had "Battery Notifier" in set up in my status bar. I was able to click on it and get to the Android Market where I went to "my apps", clicked on Go Launcher EX and hit the "Open" button. This took me to the main screen and let me cut off TwLauncher!

MAN THAT SCARED THE BEGEEEZERS OUT OF ME! I don't think I'm going to be messing around with this rooting stuff until there is one specifically for the Epic 4G and a true one click. I thought I ruined my phone.

I'm running through it and all seems fine and even better I haven't lost anything from what I can tell. Just for future reference does anyone have any idea as to why my launcher seemed to have gotten zapped? I think I'll be leaving "Battery Notifier" active in my status bar as well. That really saved me. Not sure what I could have done if I wasn't accidentally able to go to the Market and activate Go Launcher or at least download another launcher. MAN, this is why I hate messing with the inards of the phone. Almost gave me a heart attack!
